This week, I’m talking about how to break through the paralysis that follows the decision to make a big change. Have you experienced that feeling that is equal parts excitement and fear? Part of you wants to take action, but the other part of you is afraid.
I want to share a paradigm shift that will help you become comfortable with growth. Having room for improvement in your life is a good thing! Yes, change is always risky. And yes, it’s natural to live life on defense. But, it's also true that something can be missing if you’re playing small in life, and positive change is worth the blood, sweat, and tears.
The Law of the Harvest
Let’s talk about the Law of the Harvest. You are a farmer, holding seeds in your hand, and you plant them in the ground. You nourish the soil and guard the seeds from harm. When that tiny sprout pops out of the ground it’s a little miracle, but the journey isn’t over. Now you have to make sure the tiny plant isn’t choked by weeds and has the sunlight it needs to grow. Not every seed that a farmer plants will grow to bear fruit, but the farmer's efforts are worth it because some of those seeds will!
Now, let’s talk about safety. In order to grow, we need to learn to survive outside of our comfort zone. You cannot score in life if you’re only playing defense. If we live in a constant state of fear, clinging tightly to what we have, we’ll never grow to have more. That fear will hold you back from becoming truly great.
I went to a Pilates class this morning. At one point the instructor came over to give me some guidance. Was I overwhelmed or embarrassed? No! I was so excited! I got the help I needed, learned I had room for improvement, and accepted help in order to get better.
I hope you believe me, friends. Room for growth is a beautiful thing. If you were already the best version of yourself, wouldn't life be terribly boring? The opportunity to change is a gift.
What you want in life is completely within your reach. You simply need to tune in to your consciousness. If you want to work with me one on one to make a positive change in your life, you know where to find me!
Have a beautiful week! Leanne Peterson
